Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is the next-generation PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), which uses your own blood for hair loss and thinning treatments.  The latest advancements in cellular regeneration to repair hair follicles, reverse hair loss and grow thicker hair.  PRF works to stimulate the scalp, and improve hair vitality, whilst slowing hair loss and activating new hair growth.

What is Platelet Rich Fibrin?

PRF is chemical-free and does not use any anticoagulants, therefore offers 100% natural treatment to improve volume loss, photodamage, fine lines and wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, poor texture and hair restoration.

PRF has a higher concentration of growth factors, stem cells and leukocytes collected from your blood, forming a “super” blood clot promoting the regeneration of cells within the surrounding microenvironment of the injected liquid PRF.  This results in a reduction in hair loss, an increase in hair volume and activation of new hair growth.  As well as firmer, plumper skin, and a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

How Does PRF Work?

A small tube of blood is taken from the arm which is then centrifuged to separate the cells, allowing the plasma to be extracted and used.  The growth factors and platelets become trapped within a 3-dimensional fibrin mesh and released slowly to trigger cellular renewal, skin remodelling and stem cell stimulation.

What can PRF be used for?

PRF Therapy has been clinically proven to be effective in reversing both male and female pattern hair loss and baldness.  PRF can also treat hair thinning resulting from iron deficiency, metabolic causes and medication.  PRF treatment can also restore hair growth of the beard or eyebrows.

PRF is a minimally invasive hair loss treatment, ideal for those whose hair is thinning, or who don’t want to take hair loss medication due to the risk of side effects.  It can be used for both a preventative treatment and a regenerative treatment with no downtime and it is 100% natural.

Why is PRF hair loss treatment better than PRP?

PRF is the next generation, more advanced PRP.  PRF contains a higher concentration of growth factors than PRP.  PRF also contains stem cells, fibrin and leukocytes which PRP does not contain, making it more effective than PRP.  The stem cells in PRF are ‘undifferentiated’ cells that morph into the cells needed to repair the hair follicles, so they can begin to produce thick, healthy hair shafts again.  The fibrin in PRF acts as a scaffolding to keep the growth factors and stem cells in the area of the scalp being treated, so they do not diffuse away from the site.  This allows for the release of more growth factors, over a longer period of time.

PRF hair loss is less painful than hair replacement surgery, it is virtually painless.  We use a very fine needle for micro-needling, clients may experience some soreness and discomfort, and the process last 20 minutes.  A topical anaesthetic cream or ice pack can be applied before the treatment if required.

The process takes approximately 45 -60 minutes. There is no downtime post-procedure.

Individualised treatment plans are recommended for all clients. For the most effective results, we recommend a minimum course of 4 treatments, performed at 4-6 weeks intervals. To maintain hair growth we recommend maintenance treatments of 4 per year.

It is important for clients to be aware that while results will continue for many months/years, they are not permanent as hair growth has a 12-week cycle.  The different phases of the hair cycle determine hair growth and shedding.

PRF hair rejuvenation is a very safe and effective treatment with superior results.
