PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin)

PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin)

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is the next-generation PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) which uses your own blood to plump up your skin, by maximising the body’s own healing power to rejuvenate and preserve youthful skin and slow down the ageing process.  It is a safe and highly effective non-surgical treatment for skin rejuvenation producing outstanding results. It is known as a ‘Natural’ Filler.

What is Platelet Rich Fibrin?

PRF is chemical-free and does not use any anticoagulants, therefore offers 100% natural treatment to improve volume loss, photodamage, fine lines and wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, poor texture and hair restoration.

PRF has a higher concentration of growth factors, stem cells and leukocytes collected from your blood, forming a “super” blood clot promoting the regeneration of cells within the surrounding implanted microenvironment of the injected liquid PRF.  This results in firmer, plumper skin, and a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

How Does PRF Work?

A small tube of blood is taken from the arm which is then centrifuged to separate the cells, allowing the plasma to be extracted and used.  The growth factors and platelets become trapped within a 3-dimensional fibrin mesh and released slowly to trigger cellular renewal, skin remodelling and stem cell stimulation.

What can PRF be used for?

PRF is an effective

treatment that reduces the signs of ageing, slows down the ageing process when used preventatively; helps to improve acne scarring. It is a potent treatment for facial rejuvenation, it improves skin tone, texture and enlarged pores.

Specific treatments include; drastically improving the appearance of hollow eyes (tear troughs) and dark circles, and reducing nasal folds, marionette lines, peri-oral lines and skin of the neck, chest and hands. It can be used as a natural bio-filler, re-volumizing the face purely from a sample of blood.

Why PRF Under Eyes?

PRF under eye injections help to treat the darkened or sunken appearance of the eye caused by genetics, ageing, medical conditions and other factors.  To treat tear troughs, clients will seek dermal fillers, to date there is no safe dermal filler to use under the eyes to stimulate a powerful collagen response  PRF is a natural substitute for dermal filler option for tear troughs, it allows collagen production, reducing the hollowness, healthier and thicker skin appearance.   PRF offers a 100% natural approach, it nearly eliminates the possibility of an allergic reaction, and it’s a safe method to treat signs of ageing. It is different from traditional dermal fillers, hyaluronic acid fillers as it comes from your body and stimulates the body’s natural healing process, therefore increasing collagen production and blood supply to the tear trough area contributing to a more youthful appearance.  Several treatments are required to achieve results which last longer.  Other benefits include:

  • Quick procedure
  • Little to no downtime
  • Reduction of dark circles
  • Fuller tear trough area
  • Improved facial appearance
  • Moe even skin tone
  • Lessens the appearance of eye bags
  • Thicker skin in the under-eye area
  • Little risk associated with the procedure

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The main difference between PRF and PRP is that PRF contains 3 times higher growth factor concentration per microlitre, as well as stem cells and leukocytes which give a filler effect. This is achieved by spinning the blood sample at a lower speed so the white blood cell (leukocytes), stem cells and fibrin remain in the platelet layer.

PRF acts as a volumizer and is very effective in skin rejuvenation: skin tightening, improved skin texture and quality, and collagen stimulation.

PRF boosts the natural production of collagen and elastin to create thicker skin, firmer healthier, younger-looking skin as the months pass by.  It is used to prevent the depletion of collagen in younger clients and improve collagen production in older clients, therefore prolonging and preserving youthful, beautiful plumped skin.

PRF facials are performed with a microneedle for skin rejuvenation. Specific areas such as dark circles or hollow eyes are injected like fillers with the platelet. The fibrin and slow-release growth factors in the PRF build volume in the skin, so this natural filler is a wonderful alternative to synthetic fillers

We use a very fine needle for micro-needling and to inject the PRF into the face which minimises the discomfort, this process last 20 mins.  A topical anaesthetic cream can be applied before the treatment if required.

The process takes approximately 45 -60 minutes. There is no downtime post-procedure.

Individualised treatment plans are recommended for all clients. For the most effective results, we recommend a minimum course of 3 treatments, performed at 4-6 weeks intervals. To maintain glowing, youthful, plumped skin we recommend follow-up treatments of 4 facials per year.
