How Does It Work?

Dermalux re-energises your skin cells by using a combination of near-infrared light (NIR) or wavelengths. This triggers the skin cell renewal and repair process promoting collagen and elastin production which are essential for keeping the skin flexible and firm.

LED Light therapy is clinically proven to encourage collagen and elastin production in the skin to reverse the signs of ageing and improve the texture and overall appearance of the skin leaving it radiant and youthful.

Watch our Dermalux video to find out more about the treatment.

There are three different types of light therapies.  During your consultation, our skin expert will talk you through which option will address your skin concerns.

Each wavelength of light is a different colour, treating various skin conditions at various skin depths.  Treatment using a single light colour or a combination of colours may be recommended by our skin expert.  Here are the benefits of each light colour:

  • Safe for all hair types: Ideal for both men and women experiencing hair thinning or early hair loss.
  • Suitable for both Men and Women: Whether you are experiencing stress related, hormonal or hereditary hair loss.
  • Cost effective treatment: Treatment is either 10 or 20 minutes depending if
it is standalone or combined therapy.

Blue Light

Penetrates 1mm of the skin, the epidermis where it targets bacteria providing a powerful antibacterial action to help eliminate spots whilst being gentle on the skin. Blue light also has a calming effect and helps in the prevention of breakouts.

In addition to the antibacterial effect, the immune system stops producing inflammatory chemicals, reducing inflammation.
The benefits of blue light are:

  • Anti-bacterial action without inflammation
  • Helps acne and blemish-prone skin
  • Improves skin clarity
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Treats psoriasis
  • Post procedure to minimise breakouts and infection

Red Light

Penetrates 2-3mm of the skin, the dermis layer. The red light activates growth factors increases the production of collagen and improves skin elasticity, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and increasing skin hydration.
Red light supercharges our cells which results in skin-enhancing effects:

  • Stimulates circulation and lymphatic system
  • Restores optimum cell function
  • Boosts collagen and elastin production
  • Reduces fine lines
  • Improves skin texture and tone
  • Increases natural hydration

Near-Infrared Light (NIR)

Is a clear light which penetrates 5-10mm of the skin, targeting the skin’s deepest layers and stimulating cell activity with advanced rejuvenation and healing benefits.

With the increase in blood flow, which aids vascular repair, stimulation of the lymphatic system aids in the removal of toxins helping to reduce swelling and inflammation.

An increase in blood circulation improves complexion and general skin health including:

  • Advanced skin rejuvenation
  • Calms redness and irritation
  • Reduces pigmentation and age spots
  • Stimulates vascular repair
  • Accelerates wound healing
  • Ideal for the most sensitive skins

Results are seen after one Dermalux Treatment improving your skin’s luminosity, hydration and tone.
