There are three different types of light therapies.  During your consultation, our skin expert will talk you through which option will address your skin concerns. Each wavelength of light is a different colour, treating various skin conditions at various skin depths.  Treatment using a single light colour or combination of colours may be recommended by our skin expert.  Here are the benefits of each light colour:
  • Blue Light: Is antibacterial, calming and treats breakouts
  • Red Light: Boosts collagen production and improves elastin.  Reduces fine lines and wrinkles and increases hydration.
  • Near-Infrared Light (NIR): Reduces age spots and pigmentation, calms redness and irritation and is clinically proven to be beneficial.

Pre-Treatment Guidelines

  1. Ensure your skin is clean and free from any makeup, sunscreen or skincare products.
  2. Remove any jewellery or accessories that may interfere with the LED light penetration.
  3. Avoid excessive sun exposure or tanning beds before treatment, as it can cause increase skin sensitivity.
  4. Provide information of any changes to your medical history or medication.

Post-treatment Guidelines

  1. Apply a gentle moisturiser to hydrate the skin post-treatment
  2. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF30 or higher to protect the skin from sun damage.
  3. Avoid harsh skin products or treatments that may irritate the skin for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
  4. For optimal results follow the instructions provided by the skin expert.

No, whilst Dermalux treatment is very safe, our devices have not been tested on pregnant women, therefore the risk is unknown.  We do not recommend using Dermalux treatment whilst pregnant.  It is safe to use on clients who are breastfeeding.
